Top 5 Tips for the Perfect Gluten-Free Awards Show Party

Whether you're hosting an Oscars party or attending an awards-themed event, Schar resident expert and dietitian Dr. Anne has the tips to guarantee you steal the show while living gluten-free!

1. Set the stage!

Use white and gold colored table cloths, napkins, plates, balloons and gold table confetti. Amazing decorations are always gluten-free!

2. Appetizers to Steal the Show

Start with an aperitif, such as prosecco with campari.

Next, create an antipasto platter, including a medley of olives, assorted meats such as capocollo, salame, and mortadella, and assorted cheeses such as romano or parmigiano-reggiano. Garnish with roasted peppers, marinated artichoke hearts and sundried tomatoes!

3. Fancy Finger Foods

For the main course, keep it casual and classy with gluten-free finger foods. Prosciutto-wrapped breadsticks, hummus with toasted baguette rounds, goat cheese with apricot sauce with assorted crackers, and bruschetta with fresh tomato and basil are all winning choices!

4. Finish with Flair

Espresso and gluten-free tiramisu made with Schar ladyfingers is the perfect way to end the evening! Nothing brings out the richness of chocolate like coffee flavors.

5. Attending a fete? Don't fret!

Bring a snack or have a mini-meal before the event so you don't stress about finding safe eats! Other solutions are to bring an extra snack in your bag or have a treat waiting in the car for the ride home. You can also offer to bring a dish or two!

This video can also help you navigate any parties you plan on attending!

The most important part is to remember the party is about the awards - have fun, navigate safely, and enjoy.
